Photo Hunt - Pointed

The theme for this week's Photo Hunt is pointed. These photos were taken during a recent trip to Paris. It is the Memorial des martyrs de la deportation memorial near Notre Dame cathedral. It commemorates the 200,000 French citizens deported to concentration camps in WWII. Not only is it literally pointed, it is poignant too.

What a sad and moving tribute, and yes quite pointed! It is awful to think what some humans are capable of doing to others.

Nice shots, and have a good weekend!

Jams, this was such a great choice for the theme this week. You are so right, it is pointed and poignant. Your framed the photos quite beautifully, too.

A commentrary on comments: Do you ever wonder what people are trying to accomplish, or what they're thinking, when they come to comment, when their comments make it so obvious that they have not read a single word you've written?

Well done!

Superb shots, and very thought-provoking. It's not a comfortable sculpture.

To take up the point made by gandalf & grayson, I wonder about that too. It happens very frequently indeed.

I was a little spooked when I saw these pointed metals hanging on the wall. And when I read the words "concentration camps," I felt sadness.

Great photos though.

That definitely makes its point. (sorry, couldn't resist).

What a gruesome and sharp reminder.

Ouch! Just looking at it makes me feel the pointed edges...Good that I didn't enter the cathedral when we were there. I also pointed something from Paris today. Have a nice week then!
